Bring your clothes in need of minor repairs & learn how to fix them yourself! We will learn how to mend, darn, and repair our beloved clothes to extend their livelihood using hand sewing methods! The Mending Circle is a place where we can learn from each other + swap skills while in community.

A different craft project each month! This month we’ve put together the materials for seed starters made of egg cartons.
We provide the supplies and instructions so you can complete them at the Library or at home. Limited quantities, inquire at the circulation desk on the last Thursday of the month.

The Pop-Up Library currently serves two locations: the Rivertown Senior Apartments and the Athens location of Home Sweet Home. We bring a curated selection of books and other media, along with any requests made by the residents. We're set up to check in/out, request holds, issue library cards, and more, all on the go!

Family Meal Kit Distribution w/ Night School
Dinner is on the D.R. Evarts Library with our Family Meal Kits! Each Family Meal Kit includes a recipe and the ingredients (outside of cooking oil and basic spices) to create a meal that feeds 4-6 people.
Call or email starting on the Monday of distribution week to reserve yours, as kits are limited. Seniors and those in need are encourage to reserve. One meal kit per family.
House Plant Swap and Clinic
Bring clippings or rooted plants for our spring swap! If there is a plant you are having trouble with, we'll also have some supplies to diagnose what's going on and give some tips on nursing it back to health.

Spring Microgreens - Indoor Greenhouse
Come celebrate the first week of Spring with Clermont State Historic Site’s knowledgeable horticulturalist, Leslie Reed at the library as we make a mini greenhouse for the kitchen window and sow it with microgreens. Tiny but mighty, microgreens are full of flavor and nutrition powerhouses. Every seed comes with all it needs to germinate and grow a sprout. Harness the power of a seed by growing your own amazing microgreens. As well as planting microgreens to take home we will sample several different microgreens. This program is funded through the generous support of the Friends of Clermont. This event is free. Please make reservations in advance on Bookeo:

Cabin Fever Flowers - Winter Bulb Forcing
Has the winter weather got you down? There’s nothing like some Spring flowers to beat back the winter blues. Join Clermont State Historic Site’s knowledgeable horticulturalist, Leslie Reed at the library as we look at the cheerful world of bulbs and winter forcing. We will have some pre-chilled flowers bulbs to plant and bring home as well as learn how and why to pre-chill for winter forcing.
