  • Children’s Story Time and Craft

    Join Miss Cam on Saturdays at 11 am for an engaging Story Time & Craft! Each week has a different theme and activity. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Athens Storywalks

    Visit the Riverfront Park and the playground at Edward J. Arthur Elementary School for a rotating Storywalk. We change the story once a month,so make sure to catch the updates.

  • Innovation Studio & MakerSpace

    Join Ms. Kathy on Wednesdays for Innovation Studio & MakerSpace where kids have fun learning, creating and building! Themes range from kitchen science to electronics, covering robotics, hydraulics, magnetism, marble runs, and more. Open to children of all ages though young children should have an adult helper. Kids can also create with our extensive craft supplies during MakerSpace.

  • 1000 Books Before Kindergarten

    Learn more about the program here

    Our library will provide:

    • a lanyard for your child and special badges to help then celebrate each 100 book milestone!

    • Log sheets to help keep track of what books you’re reading with your child.

    • Easy grab-n-go book sets organized by topics your child loves (dinosaurs, transportation, pirates, etc!)

    • Prizes to celebrate the 1,000 book milestone!

  • Nature Backpacks

    Children are able to checkout a full backpack full of specific supplies for exploring birding, botany, bugs, hiking, and the night sky. Ask our clerks for more details.

  • Preschool Play Group

    We are currently working towards a recurring weekday program for pre-school aged children and their caretakers, as well as prospective parents. Please contact staff@drevartslibrary.org if you’re interested!

*Children aged 8 and older are allowed at the library without a caregiver, however, library staff is not responsible for them and they must abide by the library’s Patron Code of Conduct.
