Library Business & Updates

Thabiso!

Our beloved friend Thabiso the therapy dog is back! Join us from 3:30 – 4:30 pm on Thursday, April 19th when he visits our library. Thabiso loves to listen to stories and REALLY enjoys books about treats. If you have any questions, call or stop by the library.

Are you interested in local history? Join us 4/28!

Do you have questions about the Athens Rural Cemetery? Are you interested in local Greene County history? Join us as we invite Jonathan Palmer, Head Archivist of The Vedder Research Library in Coxsackie, New York, to lead a walking tour of the Athens Rural Cemetery. Learn about local history and enjoy good company as we explore this local treasure!

Meet at the library at 1 pm and we will begin our guided tour. If you have any questions, please call the library for more information.

We would like to thank the Athens Rural Cemetery Association and the Greene County Historical Society for helping us make this event possible!

Community Prom Dress Swap 4/14

Are you looking for a prom dress without breaking the bank? Would your perfect dress from last year be better suited for someone else this year? Drop off your gently-worn prom dresses to the library to give the gift of a magical evening! Several new dresses have been donated by local businesses as well, so there’s something for everyone.

The event will take place on Saturday, April 14th from noon to 3 pm at the Athens Volunteer Fire Department. For more information about volunteering or donations, contact the library!
